How to protect folders from Windows with password

In Its Doubt of this week you are going to know how to put passwords in Windows folders to protect files. The half simpler of do that, according to postgraduation teacher in FIAP's Nets (Computer science and Administration Faculty From São Paulo), Marcelo Okano, is the creation of a compacted folder. "That method allows to put password in any kind of file, like texts, images and musics, for example. And it applies for any Windows version", states.


How to do

To create a folder compacted with password, you should click with the right button of the mouse in the work area or within some folder of its preference. After, choice the New option, Compacted folder (zipada). Choice a name for this new folder, but it conserve the file .zip extension. Now copies to this folder the files to are protected. If there are no content in the folder, you will not manage to create a password for her.

With the files in the folder is already possible to create the password. For that, click with the right button inside her and select the option "Add password". A window will open so that you insert the code and confirm.

But attention when creating the password. The Windows considers letters capital letters and minuscule as different characters. "The" it is different from "the", for example. Other important care is to create passwords that you do not forget, because, otherwise, you will make unfeasible the access to the folder content and will be very difficult to recovers him.


The password that you created just guarantees that the files become confidential. In other words, without she is not possible opened them neither it moves them for other location, but does not prevent that they are erased. If the information, besides confidential, are very important, the ideal is to keep always a backup of them. It also is possible to compact each file and to attribute an exclusive password to each one.
